The human resources department at WCF Insurance has an immediate opening for someone who can demonstrate the WCF values to join their team as an HR Generalist Training & Development. This is a full-time, exempt position based in WCF's Sandy, Utah headquarters.





The HR Generalist- Training and Development will take the lead on implementation of the Leadership Model, talent development, employee training and leadership training programs for WCF. The person in this position will partner with leaders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop, coordinate, implement, and improve department training programs. The HR Generalist coordinates training for new hires in key departments such as claims and UW. The person in this position determines instructional methods, including e-learning, webinars, and instructor-led classes. The HR Generalist monitors participant progress, conducts evaluations, administers assessment tools, and solicits feedback to improve course content, delivery methods, and effectiveness. The person in this position maintains all training content, identifies objectives and measures outcomes of training modules. This person also coordinates mandatory training such as sexual harassment prevention, ethics, and reasonable suspicion.




The most qualified candidate will have:


  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business, HR management, education, organizational psychology, communications, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in training theories and principles, adult learning theory, and established industry models of evaluation.
  • Instructional design and training delivery experience to include developing and quantifying the results of training.
  • Current PHR, SPHR, or CPLP certification, preferred.
  • At least five years of experience in a training and development position.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality.


Internal candidates should have 6 months in their current position. They should have acceptable job performance and a good attendance record in their current position and must notify their current supervisor that they've applied for the position.
